Hi. Tuesday greetings. Thank you, as always, for being a reader.
I said I would be back talking about maintaining your spiritual wellness, so here we go.
I’m going to keep it sort of brief because I’m starting to teach classes in these concepts, but I want to share some of the basics here.
Remember, I’m not inventing any of this, I’m just presenting it through the lens of my life and experience. I’m also testifying that … this has been what is recommended by wise persons for hundreds of years and I have found it to be true.
As I mentioned in the previous piece, you are a manifestation of gorgeous Cosmic energy; you were born with it. Its existence in your life is not dependent on your belief; it’s there for you to ignore or strengthen and utilize.
I highly recommend the latter.
Any spiritual practice is about tapping into that core of light, your higher self. It makes no difference what you call it: The Force, God, Supreme Being, Uncle Ed, The Infinite Whatever, they all mean the same thing: the over-arching, indwelling core of energy and love that is yours.
Most people are sleepwalking through life while Uncle Ed lies dormant in the back room. Life will knock you down to get your attention and do something about this, and if you don’t pay attention it will knock you down again. It’s a terrific idea to start paying attention.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
GETTING STARTED
First, you need to get your house in order, internally and externally. Clear the crap from your life, go through your home and get rid of things you don’t need, things you don’t wear. If your life is chaos all around you it will be chaos inside, too.
Live clean. Eat well, use alcohol and drugs minimally if at all, get outside and move. Breathe the fresh air, hang out with the trees. Have fun. Do the things you loved to do as a kid. Turn your freaking devices off and go outside and play.
What you want is clear passageways for the Life Force to flow and being in joy and eating well and sleeping well and not being surrounded by decades worth of clutter creates these conditions.
Deal with your emotional blockages. For real. No more skeletons in the closet, no more pretending. Look at your life with as much detachment as possible: it happened, it’s over, it’s not who I am today. Some may need support with this process, especially if there was profound trauma anywhere along the way.
Write the new story. Choose joy every day. Build it like a muscle. Refuse to allow your mind to default to anger, regret, blame, shame. Today is a new day; live it in a new way. Your days, after all, are numbered.
You must have some sort of daily spiritual practice. I don’t necessarily mean sitting quietly on a mat, though if that’s your thing, awesome. I mean choose a way to quiet your mind, to center yourself, to ground yourself and to redirect any noise. It can be walking alone in the woods. It can be prayers or mantras. Make up whatever works for you. I often do this when I wake up in the night. It’s quiet then and I like the dark. I lay in bed and do some deep breathing, get my chakras humming, visualize healthy cells and flowing joy. Before I know it I’m back asleep again. There is no right way, whatever way works for you, the way that you can default to every day, that’s the right way.
The goal is to activate and nurture, every single day, your spiritual being. To tap into the infinite well of creative potential you carry, to let go of all the old habits that are getting in the way of you living a satisfying, productive and peaceful life, not just occasionally, all the time.
The ultimate goal is for as many of us as possible to learn how to manage our energy, use our intuition and raise the vibration of this hurting world.
Amen! xomo
Thank you, M. Nice piece.
